I know exactly what you mean about Lily. I think you do a lovely job of adapting her. I feel similarly about Severus in his younger years - we know a bit about him from that time but not a great deal. My interpretation is that he was a sullen boy and exhibited typical antisocial traits of abuse, but was not yet completely entrenched in bitterness like he is as an adult. I do think that Lily is the one person who gave him hope for a happy life and so expressed that more freely around her... that is, until he ruined their friendship. Lol.

Fooor sure. Damn it JK. Why must I recognize all of these problematic elements now that I am older? You make me sad. But I love you and your books anyway. My first thought is actually: Severus Snape as Éponine Thénardier. But yeah, poor guy. Doesn't excuse him in later years, but who the hell am I to talk-- I've also got a Peter running around, soooo.
I adore your Sev, though. He's really easy to play off of and so sweet and wonderful and he tries SO HARD and I'm just happy that he's so cool with just being friends. So lovely.
YES my secret is revealed! I play three marauders-era characters and one of them is blissfully genderswapped and came on to me way too easily.
